2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027

Admission to the Observatory building and grounds is FREE

Considered the most visited public observatory in the world, The Griffith Observatory offers visitors the chance to look through telescopes, explore exhibits and see live shows in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.  The view from up here is AMAZING!  See downtown Los Angeles, the Pacific Ocean and not to forget the world famous Hollywood Sign!!

Feeling energetic?  Why not pack a bag and start your day at the Griffith Park - Western Ave Entrance and  follow the walking trails that wind up and around the hills.  The hike takes around 30 mins (unless you take a couple of rest stops along the way).  It really is a great way to see Los Angeles as you climb higher and higher!

psst....... If you don't want to walk, there is road access behind and you can either drive up (Keep in mind there is a parking fee), or jump in a cab or shared shuttle.

If you didn't pack a picnic, there is a café at the top for a light snacks.

DO THE HIKE! Even though its hard work, it really was enjoyable!  And if you are like us and like a "drink" be sure to pack those plastic cups and hide those cans or bottles...
